Autosport International Racing Car Show 2015

Autosport International show 2014-1520

The Autosport International Racing Car Show – held at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham, England – is an absolute must for petrolheads and motorsports fans. Running from 8th – 11th of January 2015, this will be the 25th anniversary of the Autosport International, and as always it promises to be one of the highlights of the year for national and international racing fans and car fanatics alike.

With attendance looking to be over 82,000 over the four-day event (Thursday/Friday are Trade days, Saturday/Sunday are Public days), the show is a pre-runner to the motorsport season, and the huge 1 million square-foot exhibition area features something for everyone, including attending teams and cars from Formula One, BTCC, karting, oval racing and more, plus interviews and autograph opportunities with racing drivers such as David Coulthard, Matt Neal, Allan McNish and Petter Solberg, to name a few.

There are displays of both stunning modern and eye-wateringly beautiful historic race cars from across the decades, as well as a ‘Trade & Technical Area’, where you can purchase every part you need for road, track and race vehicles from parts manufacturers and dealers of suspension, transmission, brakes, engine, wheels, tyres, roll cages, helmets, racing overalls and whatever else you want.

If you want to attend simply for the pleasure of viewing lots of exciting and expensive machinery, then there are also a massively variety of trade stands selling things like car cleaning equipment, models, remote control cars, racing paraphernalia (posters, t-shirts, films etc) and a whole host of others stuff guarenteed to empty your wallet (in a good way). Failing the fact you’ll find anything at all you want to buy – which is doubtful – or you just want to relax, sit down and take in the cars with a proper coffee, then visit from one of the specialist sellers in amongst the stands.

Taking part alongside Autosport is the Performance Car Show, which features stands from manufacturers including Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Ginetta, Tesla, Lamborghini, Abarth, Lotus, Ariel, McLaren Caterham, Bentley, Noble, and many more guaranteed to get that fuel in your blood flowing fast! There’s also an auction, which sells a large collection of rare and historically significant cars, with world-record bids often seen. If that’s not enough, there’s also a Live Action Arena which has drifting, stunt driving, hot rods, driver interviews and more.

Whatever your reason for attending the 2015 Autosport International Racing Car Show, you’ll come away wanting more and waiting eagerly for the next one, it really is that good!
